Ingredients

  • 3 large ripe bananas
  • ½ cup salted butter melted
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • cup granulated sugar
  • cup light brown sugar
  • 2 eggs room temperature
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 4 oz semi-sweet chocolate melted, room temperature
  • 1 tsp cocoa powder
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°. Grease and line the 9×5 inch loaf pan and set aside. In a large bowl mix butter, oil, both granulated and brown sugars and bananas. Add in the eggs and vanilla and mix until just combined. Add in flour, baking soda and salt and mix just until all of the dry ingredients are incorporated.
  • In a small bowl combine melted chocolate and cocoa powder. Scoop about 1 cup of batter into a medium sized bowl. Mix in the chocolate until evenly combined.
  • Alternate scooping the plain banana batter with the chocolate into the prepared pan and swirl with a knife. Top with chocolate chips and bake for 50-60 minutes or until baked through. If you notice the top browning too quickly create a tent with aluminum foil and gently place over the top. Allow to cool completely before removing from the pan.
