- 12 raw frozen dinner rolls I use Rhodes!
- fully cooked breakfast sausage, defrosted I use about 6 Jimmy Dean's and cut them into smaller pieces
- 8 eggs
- ¼ cup heavy cream or milk
- ½ tsp onion powder optional
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp pepper
- 6 slices cheddar cheese I used American cheese but you can use any kind that melts!
- ¼ cup everything bagel seasoning this is optional, you can also add any other topping you'd like
For the eggs:
In a medium sized bowl whisk together eggs, heavy cream, onion powder, salt & pepper until light in color, about 30 seconds. Cook on the stove until just cooked. Mix in the defrosted breakfast sausage. Don't overcook since they will be baking in the oven as well!
To assemble:
Once the rolls are soft, spray hands lightly with nonstick and press and stretch the dough into about 3 -inch circles. Add half of 1 slice of cheese to the dough then scoop about 2 tablespoons of the egg mixture into the center. Make sure you leave about ¼ inch of dough with none of the cheese or egg mixture on so you can seal it. pull the edges up together and pinch closed. If the dough isn't sealing, dip your finger into the some water and wet the edges of the dough before pulling the edges together.
Dip the tops of the rolls into the everything bagel seasoning then place on the prepared baking sheet, seasoning side up. Gently cover with saran wrap that you sprayed with nonstick cooking spray to make sure it doesn't stick to the dough. Let them rise for 30 minutes while the oven preheats to 350°
After the 30 minutes, space dough balls approximately 2 inches apart on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or sprayed with nonstick cooking spray. Bake according to the package, usually 15-17 minutes. Remove from the oven and let cool for 10 minutes before eating. Enjoy!
