Ingredients

  • 1 cup salted butter
  • 20 oz mini marshmallows
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 10 cups Cocoa Krispies
  • 1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips melted
  • 20 Oreos roughly chopped
  • ½ cup Halloween Sprinkles

Instructions

  • In a large pot over medium heat, melt the butter. Continue stirring until it begins to foam and turn golden brown, giving off a nutty aroma. This should take 4–6 minutes. Remove from heat immediately to prevent burning.
  • Stir in the vanilla extract — it will bubble up, so keep stirring until the sizzling subsides. Add half of the marshmallows, stirring until mostly melted. Add the remaining marshmallows and continue stirring until they’re almost completely melted and smooth.
  • Add the Cocoa Krispies 2 cups at a time, gently folding after each addition. Once all cereal is added and evenly coated, fold in the crushed Halloween Oreos (use about 3/4 of this and save the rest for topping). Transfer the mixture to the prepared pan. Lightly wet your hands (to prevent sticking) and gently press the mixture evenly into the pan. Don’t pack it down too tightly or the treats will be dense — just lightly pat it level.
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips in 30-second intervals, stirring between each until smooth. Let cool for 2–3 minutes. Pour the melted chocolate over the top of the treats or dip edges if preferred. Immediately sprinkle with more crushed Oreos, candy eyes, and Halloween sprinkles.
  • Let the treats sit for 30–45 minutes at room temperature to firm up before slicing. Use a sharp knife sprayed with nonstick spray for clean cuts. Enjoy!
