Tomato Basil Angel Hair Pasta

This Tomato Basil Angel Hair Pasta is full of fresh, bright ingredients that will make your taste buds so happy 🙂 With a dish that’s only 5 ingredients, topped with cheese and comes together in 20 minutes, how could you not love it?!

Only 5 Simple Ingredients!

The 5 ingredients in this recipe are angel hair pasta, cherry tomatoes, fresh basil, fresh garlic and olive oil. Although they are all simple, delicious ingredients, the star truly is the fresh basil. Basil is a beautiful herb that is in season in the summer months. You can buy it dried in the spice aisle, but that’s best for sauces or to season chicken. Fresh basil is a necessary pop of freshness. ½ a cup of fresh basil is about 15 sprigs, or leaves. I start with about 10 sprigs, chiffonade them, add it to the pasta and go from there. The fresh herbs make this dish so delicious, so I’ll add until I feel like I will get basil in every single bite!

I hope you enjoy this recipe as much as I do, and creates memories of your own that you can cherish! Let me know what you think of the recipe in the comments and don’t forget, there’s no such thing as too much basil 🙂

Love this. Looking to make this for my husbands birthday!! Can you try with other pasta types? We really like penne dishes.

I’m so glad you want to try this recipe! Yes you can use any kind of pasta you’d like! I prefer Angel Hair because it’s light, but I’ve definitely started to make this and realized I didn’t have Angel Hair and so I used Bow Tie and it was still delicious!! Let me know how it turns out 🙂

Being a trained chef? I’m often making recipes I am so tempted to add to or subtract from. This recipe is perfecto. The flavor? Simple. The ingredients? Simple. The pasta choice? Perfect. Just some kosher salt and freshly ground pepper is all I added ( addicted to it!) Just a great, simple flavor profile. Loved it!
